I was so excited to read this one after Lemon Tart, and I was not disappointed! Great story line, mystery, a little romance, funny lines, and recipes. Who could ask for a better book?

Innocents abroad ;)

English Trifle is the second of the Sadie Hoffmiller mysteries, but since I won a copy of it, I got to read it first. I found English Trifle completely absorbing! I devoured this book. (I know, I know, very punny.)

But seriously, I loved the twists and turns in the plot, very few of which I saw coming. And it's always fun to romp in the English countryside.

As always, Sadie's a bit on the preachy side, though I found her less so in this book than in Lemon Tart.

And the recipes look wonderful! I made the eponymous trifle for my husband (he lived in Scotland for a few years and had fond memories of that dish). He loved it!

Christopher P. Barton earned his Ph.D. in anthropology from Temple University. He is the supervising archaeologist at the African American community of Timbuctoo in Westampton, NJ. He is the author of numerous works dealing archaeology, race and community outreach. Kyle Somerville earned his Ph.D. in anthropology from the University at Buffalo. His has spent nearly ten years in the cultural resources management and academia. He is the author of numerous works focusing on zooarchaeology, industrial archaeology and the archaeology of race.

Ultimate Answer

I must confess I have been following her public life since she became Secretary of State. I am her most avid reader having read her memoir six times. I ended my last reading on that book almost two weeks ago, and I finished reading the mighty and the almighty in five days last friday. To the point, I expected her second volume not to be a research work, it seems as though if I had to talk about the Middle East in school, this book would definitely be my guidance on that matter.

Now in all seriousness, I expected this book to be more about her accomplishments in government, and her sharp insights regarding recent events. This book could've just as easily be called 'The Mighty, The Almighty and Middle East Conflicts'. Do NOT get me wrong, I am all for that, I do believe the Middle East is, will and has shaped the world in every single way. Religion must be taken seriously into account as a player in world events, definitely. I am not against the content nor the topics of this book. I just wanted it to be more 'Madeleiney', if you will.

Mrs. Albright, if you are, or someone who knows you, reading this, I want you to know I expect your third book to be the ultimate answer to today's US Government Administration failures.

Brilliant Woman

Upon reading her book, I must conclude that Madeleine Albright is brilliant. Her book really helped explain a great deal about the entire political scene, both today and in the past. I find it fascinating that what is happening in our world today actually confirms the theories she wrote about over two years ago.

While I do not agree with all of the opinions in her book, I found the theory about religion being at the root of war very intriguing and accurate. I wish I had thought of some of the concepts in the book myself. She has a knack for bringing out our 'best thinking'.

An insightful analysis for those who take a deep interest in American foreign policy

For the record and pertinency, I am a conservative centrist. I am not nor have I ever been either a Democrat or a Republican. This is the 4th in a series of books written by former SecStates, two by Mr. Baker and two by Ms. Albright. I find them all intriguing in their own way. This text, "The Mighty and the Almighty: Reflections on America, God, and World Affairs," brings into focus the realities of the world from the world's perspective, how American actions are perceived by the world, and the direction America can and must take to rebuild that which as been lost. What sets this work apart is the analysis of the relationships among people from secular, cultural, and religious perspectives as they are interwoven in various patterns around the world. It is a refreshing book which I fully expect will have increasing relevance as we make the transition from the current to the future administration. I strongly endorse Ms. Albright's most recent book for anyone who takes a deep interest in American foreign policy.

I loved this book so much so I highlighted most of it in Kindle. I will refer to it again & again. I like his spin on oscillating true Lilith ( H13 on astro.com) and his explanations on why he finds it more true to the changing dynamic nature of lilith than the average (mean) black moon Lilith. He explained the myths and history of Lilith in an useful clear manner. If you ever wondered what's going on with your life all of a sudden look for Black moon Lilith aspects. A well-thought study of an often misunderstood archetype

One of the most comprehensive summaries of Lilith as myth and archetype that I have ever read. My astrological savvy is sophomoric at best so the last half of the book discussing Lilith as an astrological influence was over my head. However, I found the first part of the book to be of such great value in my studies that it stands alone as a sufficiently valuable read.

fascinating

Anyone raising a daughter should read Lilith and find out where she is in your daughter's chart because when they say that an repressed Lilith will make sure she is heard they aren't kidding. My Lilith was in my fifth house right between Pluto and Uranus and it was in aspect to my sun which was in my seventh house which means that I wasn't comfortable with my own power so that I only expressed it thru relationships. Well I need not tell those who know astrology how that played out.
